Dakota Sportsman, Inc. was founded in the fall of 1981. We have firmly established a heritage of speaking up for the concerns of sportsmen in South Dakota. We are a strong affiliate of the South Dakota Wildlife Federation, and the National Wildlife Federation, who has earned the respect of South Dakota’s hunter, anglers and conservationists for our work on local and state levels. Nationally, Dakota Sportsman, Inc. stands tall among the finest sportsmen/conservationist organizations in the United States. Our northeastern South Dakota organization was among 26 clubs which received the 1985 National Wildlife Federation President’s Award to Outstanding Member Clubs. In 1987, we received the Chairman’s Award from the National Wildlife Federation and we were also picked as South Dakota Wildlife Federation “Club of the Year”. In both 1991 and 1995, Dakota Sportsman, Inc. received the Chairman’s Award from the National Wildlife Federation.
